Dear readers,
My name is Selena Rae Webb, and I am a freelance camera operator and cinematographer based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and a minor in Technical Theatre in 2019.
My passion for filming began early in my life, and it was my love for it that led me to pursue a career in the film industry. I am proud to say that my portfolio showcases a wide range of work, including documentary projects, educational programming, commercial work, and narrative film projects. Some of my previous clients include ABC, Disney, FX, TCM, PBS, UMG, Smithsonian, and many others.
In my work, I am committed to promoting equality and parity in the film industry. I have continued to devote my time to several female-led and crewed projects in L.A., including “Outlaws,” created with the 48 Hour Women’s Weekend Challenge, “Smashed,” shot at CBS Studios with Women in Media, and the comedy thriller short “White Elephant,” among others.
Through this blog, I hope to share my experiences on set with you, both the good and the bad, and to give you an insight into my creative process. I believe that by sharing my journey, I can help others who are also pursuing a career in the film industry.
I am also committed to sharing industry news and providing insights into the latest camera equipment and technologies. So, whether you’re a fellow filmmaker or someone who’s simply interested in the industry, I hope that you’ll find this blog informative and entertaining.
Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction, and I hope that you’ll continue to follow my blog, Selena on Set.
John Sandman
